Remember the sketch I did poolside in Las Vegas? I put some color to it. It didn't come out as bright as I wanted, partly because my sketchbook has a slight yellow tint to it. Like a manilla folder.
I try not to over think when I paint, but it wasn't the case with this. I put too much paint for the water and it came out really muddy. I used my photograph of the pool to help remember the colors. So the bright gorgeous colors in the photograph were too hard to duplicate. My mistake was trying to duplicate it.
On its own, the sketch looks great. I won't dwell on it too anymore.
Time to move on. Gotta sketch, sketch, sketch!
