While the kids were at my parents, hubby and I pulled out the watercolors after lunch. Ok, maybe I pulled them out and invited him to paint with me. He's a very careful painter and I love seeing him in action. He claims not to be artistic like I am, but he's very creative.
I pulled out my travel watercolor kit and the recycled cards I picked up at ScrapDC. Did you see how I even rounded the corners with my new corner punch? Ok, maybe I was just showing off my punch to hubby. Then I drew a mandala with an ink pen and then painted it. I found it very meditative and relaxing. It reminded me of how, as a child, I spent so much time coloring in coloring books. Except this time around, I created my own artwork to "color in."
The cards buckled a little bit once it was mostly covered in paint, but was mostly flat when it dried. I'm pretty happy with them. I kind wished I bought the entire stack, especially since my 1" thick stack of cards only cost me 25 cents. I guess I'll just have to go back there. Darn.
Do you still "color"? Maybe everyone would be happier if we spent time everyday just coloring.
